The existing road surface did not meet the width requirements for a Class IV regional road. In some sections, the asphalt pavement was only 3.5 meters wide. The condition of the asphalt was very poor, and a significant amount of peat was found at the bottom of the embankment. The road was unsafe and full of potholes. The section also contained numerous horizontal and vertical curves, and surface water drainage from the asphalt was not ensured.
In the project, the carriageway width was designed in accordance with KTR 08 requirements. Appropriate solutions were selected for embankment reinforcement, drainage issues were resolved, and the number of vertical and horizontal curves was reduced as much as possible. After construction, the road will be safer and more comfortable for users.
