The reconstruction of Road No. 137 Pilviškiai–Šakiai–Jurbarkas, section from 40.95 km to 52.10 km, has been successfully completed, significantly improving traffic conditions and regional transport infrastructure.
Key Works Performed:
- Widening and resurfacing of the road, ensuring smoother traffic flow and increased transport capacity;
- Bridge reconstruction at 43.79 km over the Jotija River, enhancing traffic safety and infrastructure durability;
- Installation of new pedestrian paths, providing safer movement for pedestrians;
- Construction of bus stops and platforms, improving public transport infrastructure;
- Installation of safety islands and “city gates”, helping to manage traffic flow and improve safety;
- Protective road barriers and culvert replacements, ensuring better traffic control and effective rainwater drainage;
- Reconstruction and installation of new access roads and intersections, improving traffic flow management;
- Upgrading of utility networks, contributing to long-term efficiency and infrastructure sustainability.
This reconstruction significantly improved the national road network infrastructure, ensuring safe traffic conditions that meet the needs of both local and transit transport, while aligning with international road standards.
