The reconstruction of the grade-separated intersection on P. Armino Street (railway crossing) in Marijampolė has been successfully completed, significantly improving traffic management, safety, and transport capacity in this part of the city.
During the reconstruction:
- A two-lane roundabout was built to ensure smooth traffic flow;
- Connector roads were constructed to the Marijampolė sugar factory area and P. Armino Street;
- A road viaduct was built, allowing safe and uninterrupted crossing over the railway;
- A car parking area and a connecting road to the vehicle weighing station entrance were installed, with an additional traffic lane nearby;
- Pedestrian sidewalks were separated from the carriageway by a retaining wall, with pavement surfaces set at different levels to enhance safety.
This project not only improved traffic conditions but also contributed to the overall modernization of Marijampolė’s infrastructure, increased traffic capacity, and reduced congestion.
