Existing Situation

  • The section of road No. 164 scheduled for repair, from km 133.920 to km 136.714, is located in the territory of Tauragė District Municipality near the village of Mažonai.
  • Within this road section there is one intersection with the state regional road No. 4513 and four intersections with local roads.
  • The surrounding area is sparsely developed, consisting mainly of meadows, agricultural fields and forests.

Design Solutions

  • The road section is planned to undergo major repair so that, after completion of the works, it meets the requirements set for Category III roads.
  • The road is designed in accordance with KTR 1.01:2008 Road Technical Regulation “Automobile Roads” and other applicable нормативные documents. The implementation of the project will not violate the interests of third parties.
  • The road centerline and longitudinal profile are designed according to regulatory requirements, and the beginning and end of the repaired section are smoothly connected to the existing pavement.
  • Driveways are designed with asphalt concrete pavement in accordance with KPT SDK 19.
  • The carriageway is designed with a 2.5% double-sided cross slope.
  • The width of the carriageway is 7.0 m, consisting of two traffic lanes, each 3.5 m wide, intended for opposite directions.
  • Universal design solutions are not specifically applied to the road itself, as road parameters and materials are defined by construction technical regulations and additional design solutions are therefore not required.
  • At pedestrian crossings, tactile paving with warning bumps will be installed. In other pedestrian infrastructure areas, a guidance system for visually impaired persons will be provided using yellow concrete tactile paving with elongated ribs or raised lawn curbs along the edges of paths, enabling safer and more convenient navigation for people with disabilities.
