Implementation of the reconstruction project for the existing 1435 mm railway section from the Poland–Lithuania State Border to Mockava is underway. This modernization is crucial for improving international connectivity, ensuring smoother and more efficient railway transport between Lithuania and Poland.
The project involves upgrading the railway infrastructure to enhance traffic safety, increase transport capacity, and improve travel speed. These improvements will contribute to regional economic growth, strengthen logistics chains, and enhance conditions for both passenger and freight transport.
The reconstruction is significant not only for Lithuania but also for the entire Baltic region, as it forms a strategic part of the European standard gauge network connecting the Baltic States with Western Europe.
